This boxy silhouette likely dates back to the 80s or 90s.

It's a 3D knit made in Australia, famous for Coogi.

It uses high-quality pure merino wool (not "Precure").
The fine, white merino wool yarn is used to its full potential in a simple, monochrome color scheme of black, white, and gray, creating a fashionable look.

The bold, three-dimensional knit design incorporates the Japanese pattern "Shokko" (蜀江). This is a serious piece of knitting.

The color blocking on the body and sleeves is also quite interesting, and the thick ribbing gives it a luxurious feel.

Size: L
Shoulder: 52cm Sleeve Length: 59cm Body Width: 56cm Length: 65cm

It's likely in mint condition from long-term storage.
It's in very good condition, and there are no signs of wear.

Looking at the knit,
it has a very dense construction, but it's knitted very beautifully, and you can feel the high level of technical skill, even though it's an industrial product.

It evokes a sense of fashion reminiscent of Issey Miyake,
early Yohji Yamamoto, and Y's.
It would also look good paired with brands like Louis Vuitton and Prada.

It also has a touch of Ivy and Bubble style,
but it looks great with slacks, as expected.

In the Coogi context, it's definitely Biggie, so you could pair it with a gold chain and Yohji or Gaultier sunglasses for a bad-boy vibe from a Takeshi Kitano movie.

By the way,
this Shokko pattern originated in "Shu," famous in the ancient Chinese Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
It's said to be derived from a river in Shu.

It's a pattern closely related to brocade woven from silk, which was as valuable as gold in those days.
It was imported to Japan during the Nara period and many examples were brought to Horyu-ji Temple.

Nowadays, it's firmly established in Japanese patterns and kimono obi,
and it's used today to wish for success in love, marital harmony, and longevity.

An Australian knits this ancient pattern originating from ancient China in merino wool,
and it arrives in a corner of Japan.

It's truly a dramatic and mysterious thing about the human heart.
It's just like the flow of a timeless river.

Awesome.
